Genjutsu:
Genjutsu increases the character’s ability to successfully cast genjutsu on opponents. The full chance that the user has of success is explained in detail:
Penetration: Genjutsu / 9 + Seal Knowledge / 12
-All genjutsu have a “difficulty” number.
-When casting a genjutsu, the character subtracts his “Penetration” number from the “difficulty” number.
-If the difficulty number becomes 0 or less, the genjutsu succeeds.
General Genjutsu difficulty number of:
D ranks: 3-15
C ranks: 13-28
B ranks: 25-48
A ranks: 45-68
S ranks: 65-90
Kai and Wounding:
Kai follows similar rules to genjutsu casting, but can only be done when the trapped character can deduce that he is in a genjutsu, or if he fears he is trapped in a genjutsu.
-Add [Caster's Excess Genjutsu Penetration / 2] to the difficulty value.(Excess Genjutsu Penetration is any penetration you have over the base requirement.)
-When casting Kai, the character chooses to spend an amount of chakra.
-For every 1 point of chakra spent, the character subtracts 1 from the difficulty number.
-An admin will roll a D10, and subtract that from the difficulty number.
-If the difficulty number becomes 0 or less, the kai breaks the genjutsu.
The character can also self-inflict damage to disrupt the genjutsu. This can only be done when the trapped character can deduce that he is in a genjutsu. Being damaged by any source during genjutsu will also trigger this effect.
-When self-wounding, the character spends one action.
-The character immediately takes 10 points of damage, and subtracts twice that number from the difficulty number.
-An admin will roll 5 D10, and subtract twice that number from the difficulty number.
-The user then takes damage equal to the value of the dice.
-If the difficulty number becomes 0 or less, the genjutsu is disrupted and breaks.
Layering:
Genjutsu can be layered, but only to a certain degree.
When attempting to layer genjutsu, the caster suffers a penalty equal to 5% of the target's intelligence added to the difficulty number. For each layer after that, add an additional 5% of the target's intelligence in difficulty.
Detection:
Detecting genjutsu can be done in one of two ways.
The first involves the player behind the character noticing that a genjutsu was cast, and forming a solid explanation of how their character discovers this as well.
The second involves the character discovering the genjutsu, by way of having a high innate perception, or intelligence. If the character discovers this, the battle admin will inform the player privately, even if the player hasn’t learned that he was in a genjutsu.
